Why NOT you?
Your situation isn't so unique that you're a lost cause.
Never.
If you have a super loud inner critic and a ton of self-doubt, it's not a sign of anything.
It just means that you have a brain that needs to be managed.
You aren't too far gone.
I had a client who was convinced that she had gotten as far as she could with self-development.
She had a crazy difficult childhood.
One that sounds like it's from a movie.
Tragic on every front.
She was wildly successful in her career and presented with "look I have a ton of self-doubt, my needs never come first, I'm hard on myself, and this is just the way I am.
…I've done all of the work, read all of the books, done all of the things, and this IS the best version of me. It just is what it is. I'm a product of my upbringing, and I've made lemonade out of it."
She came to me for time management.
After we conquered the math (how-to) part of managing her time, the drama followed.
Because it always does.
She pushed back hard on any mindset stuff.
I've already done all of that! I'm not being hard on myself; this is just how I am! It's not like I can control it! I don't want to waste time on this stuff; I've been there and done that.
She had spent so much time and energy on "fixing" herself over the years that she was convinced that she knew it all.
You aren't going to show me something I don't already know or haven’t already heard.
The good old "I know it all" roadblock...one that I FOR SURE offer my coach all of the time. 😂
I totally understood where she was coming from because I used to be her.
She wanted to quit.
I wouldn't let her.
[Not going to lie, I was a relatively new coach when this happened, and I had to manage my mind like a ninja on this one.]
I told her that if she didn't transform her mindset and how she felt about herself, I'd give her all of her money back.
But at the end of working together, not now.
I would not let her give up on herself ahead of time.
Because I knew I could help her.
None of us is so much of a cluster f--- that we can't improve.
You're not a lost cause or a hopeless case, and "too far gone."
What if that's true?
What if you can completely transform your life?
What if your life can be unrecognizable six months from now? A year from now? A month from now? A WEEK from now?
Why NOT you?
No matter how old you are or how much you've been through in your life.
Or how much you're going through now.
What if?
Flirt with that possibility and see what comes up for you.
When you’re ready to conquer the stuff that is holding you back in life, hit me up. I can help.
Best regards,
Machele
P.S. I didn't have to refund her money, and she is still one of my clients. And she is a brand-new person, her own best friend, and in love with her life. And she inspires the hell out of me. It has been super fun to work with her and watch it all unfold.
