As a society, we are so conditioned to suck it up, be happy, focus on gratitude, etc. Toxic positivity. I think the real problem is that if distract yourself and hide from your negative emotions, you will miss out on soooo many of the juicy parts of life: the lessons, breakthroughs, and opportunities to heal.
