Overwhelm

Overwhelm

I had a new client reach out to me last week because she was completely overwhelmed.

She wanted me to teach her how to deal with overwhelm better.

She can't seem to focus and keeps jumping back and forth like a yo-yo from one project to the next.

She is desperately trying to hold on to everything she had built up in her business.

She can't seem to stay off Facebook.

She is spinning out over her friends that aren't taking everything seriously enough.

She wants to keep working toward her goals.

She loves to work, but there's no point now.

She might lose it all and is taking panic-driven action to try to prevent it.

She has no control.

This was her story, and she was freaking exhausted. She didn't think it was a story; she thought she was providing me with her circumstances. But, the only actual circumstance is the national emergency/pandemic.

The rest is a story, her story. It's a story that doesn't serve her at all. It's a story that will perpetuate those same results over and over.

We are chipping away at her story so she can take a look at the real facts about her situation, and deliberately deciding how she wants to show up. She is taking back control of her results. And she will come out on the other end a freaking champ.

Panic and overwhelm are not mandatory right now.

It is possible to feel calm and in control right now.

It's possible to feel this way without your circumstances changing.

And it's not about faking your way through it and practicing affirmations that you don't believe.

It’s about getting clear and honest about the story you're telling yourself, rather than trying to hide from it or numb it out.

Write it down.

What are the everyone-in-the-world-would-agree facts?

Make 100% sure they are facts.

The rest is your story, and it's optional. Does it serve you? What results are you creating over and over with your story? Results that you want?

Your story doesn't feel optional, but it is.

It can be challenging to see your own story objectively. A fish doesn't realize it's in water kinda thing.

Slow down and drop into curiosity.

Neutral curiosity.

Your story determines your results, not your circumstances, so make sure you like your story.

If this sounds and looks familiar, and you feel ready to try something new, reach out to me, I can help.

Calm and control are always an option (even now, especially now), and I can help you find it. Book your free call to learn how.
