You know those days where there are so many things you could do but you don't feel like doing any of them?
…but you also don't want to do nothing?
Like the idea of just laying around all day doesn't sound enjoyable either.
Um, not my favorite.
I haaaattteee days like this.
And I'm guessing those aren't your favorite either.
I created a little process that helps me bust through the f--- it mentality and I wanted to share it with you.
I'll share a few examples below:
Business day (Business owner)
Appointments stay of course and just focus on showing up the best you can. Make a list of things you could do for the day. I mix in personal things around the house as well. Focus on 15-minute increments because we can do ANYTHING for 15-minutes. Examples below:
Register for at least one new online networking event
Unsubscribe to emails
Throw a load of laundry in
Play with the puppies (I always mix in a few fun things)
Clean out inbox
Read a randomly selected business book for 15 minutes
Brainstorm ideas for marketing
Brainstorm ways I can better serve client A
Tidy office
Review calendar for tasks that I no longer want to accomplish
Delete large items from download folder
Update financial master tracker
Spend 15 minutes engaging in different FB groups
Write content for 15 minutes
Gratitude dump (specific to business and clients)
Review my progress toward my monthly goal and think of one thing to start doing and one thing to stop doing
Schedule a coffee chat with person B
Business day (Corporate)
Again, appointments are what they are, just show up the best you can. Stick to any firm deadlines for the day. Make a list of things you could do for the remainder of the time.
Unsubscribe to emails
Organize files
Call one of your “I hate calling” prospects
Organize your office
Send a thank you card to your top client (if in sales)
Something you always put off until the last minute (spend 15 minutes working on it)
Call your boss or coworker to check in
Do one thing that will make your day easier tomorrow
Do one thing that will make next week easier
Research a solution to a problem for 15 minutes
Process your inbox (not sure how to do this, hit me up and I'll send you my freebie!)
Clean up your to do list
Send a thank you email to someone that helps you a lot or makes your job easier.
Tackle a problem that you've been avoiding
Weekend or day off
I will list chores, fun things, people to call, things I hate doing (dust ceiling fans), things I need to do but always put off (light bulbs, change filters), etc. Focus on listing things you could do, should do, want to do, would enjoy doing, would enjoy getting it off your list, etc.
This is where it gets fun, lol.
Take your list and click HERE to paste it into this game wheel that you can spin to randomly select a task.
Remove it once completed and then spin again.
This ALWAYS helps me break through those “F--- it” days.
Always.
Hope you give it a shot, would love to hear about it if you do! You can drop me an email to share your feedback by clicking HERE.
